If a particular amateur has done something like create a piece of software, or something noteworthy, that's a different story. So, in my articles, I'll tend to "change the names to protect the innocent", or guilty. LoL
This is a blog, writing platform, not amateur radio, so therefore, FCC rules don't apply. Lots of folks use aliases. I don't see a problem with it. Obviously, if one hears a made up, unverifiable call sign on the air, the story is different.
